Elton "Croc" Crochran

A San Antonio native, Coach Elton “Croc” Crochran brings a wealth of experience and passion to developing youth athletes. A former football player at Abilene Christian University, Coach Croc furthered his expertise by earning a Master’s degree in kinesiology from Hardin-Simmons University. With over 12 years of strength and conditioning experience—including 7 years at the collegiate level and 5 years coaching high school athletes—Coach Croc has dedicated his career to enhancing athletic performance.
In December 2024, he founded Alamo Sports Performance LLC with a mission to elevate training standards, optimize performance, and reduce injuries for athletes of all ages. His deep understanding of sports science, combined with a hands-on coaching approach, has made him a trusted leader in the field of strength and conditioning. Through Alamo Sports Performance, Coach Croc continues to push the boundaries of athletic development, helping athletes maximize their potential while prioritizing health and longevity in their careers.

What we train:
We train all of our athletes with the goal of improving athleticism by enhancing strength, balance, power and speed. Through consistent training, we aim to improve athletic performance, prevent injuries and promote long term success regardless of training age.

Strength
Strength training improves athletic performance, can help reduce injuries or recovery from injuries, assist in building power and stability.

Power
Power training is used to enhance explosiveness and speed. Along with plyometrics, developing power helps develop efficiency for quick, powerful movements.

Balance
Balance training boosts coordination, prevents injuries, and enhances stability, agility, and overall athletic performance in youth athletes.

Speed
Speed training, utilizing plyometrics, flying 10s, acceleration drills and curvilinear sprint work, improves acceleration and max velocity.

Day 1: Monday
Speed
High Intensity
Vertical and horizontal plyometrics, skipping, bounding and max effort sprinting
Day 2: Tuesday
Multi-Speed
High Intensity
Acceleration and Deceleration emphasis combined with speed endurance, multi directional starts and curvi-linear sprints.
Day 3: Wednesday
Change of Direction
Moderate Intensity
Emphasis on accelerating/ decelerating technique while rapidly producing force.
Day 4: Thursday
Conditioning
Low Intensity
Tempo training designed to prepare for the beginning of the school year. Work/Rest ratios that are used for various tempos.
